Justin Baroncea is born on 1974 at Bucharest, Romania. A graduate of “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urbanism from Bucharest, Justin Baroncea is interested in his artistic projects by a way of contextualization and reintegration of some architectural structures both in their bi-dimensional form through painting, and in three-dimensional form through the object of urban furniture. Images and proposed objects can be constructed, reconstructed and deconstructed both physically and mentally.
If in “TII” exhibition, Justin Baroncea described his works in terms of “a series of patterns for urban furniture cuttings”, the ones from “+IV”, can be interpreted as a “minimal bricolage” in which ordinary objects, faucets, sink drains etc., don’t make reference to the typical message of “ready made” or the one of “povera art”, do not represent an intentional simplicity, but an expressive simplism.
In 2005 he obtains his Ph.D. in architecture at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Barcelona, Spain. He has numerous awards and nominations in the country and abroad.
Since 2011 he collaborates with Anaid Art Gallery.
